A daring young man in his flying machine

This evening I was out back trying to get a shot of the goldfinch on the thistle seed sock feeder I had put up when another winged 'creature' flew by:



It was the crop duster who comes several times a year to spray the blueberry fields that are about a mile away from my house. He made several passes and try as I might, this was the only shot where I got most of the plane. Most of the time I couldn't find him in the viewfinder.

Those lines toward the bottom of the photo are the power lines out by the road. He gets very low on his turns! The propeller looks like it's not even moving and there's a name painted near the nose of the plane. I can't make out what it says, though.

In this shot he was right above the house and you can see the row of nozzles where the insecticide sprays out:



And no, it wasn't my intent to capture just that part of the plane. He was just too fast for me.

I'm loving this camera so much that the 'low battery' light is already flashing!
