I start back to work tomorrow. The surgeon put me on a shortened schedule...4 hour shifts. During a normal week I usually work (4) 8-hour shifts which is not full-time. And because I'm not full-time, Comp will not make up the difference. There's no way I can survive on 4 hour shifts but the hellhole informed me, and I quote... "You have to."
The doctor told me yesterday that they had to remove about 60% of the meniscus in my knee. It will never be as 'good' as it was before the injury and will continue to deteriorate. Since there is very little cartilage left, the bones will now be rubbing against each other and wearing each other down.
Just going grocery shopping causes a great deal of discomfort and after being on my feet so much yesterday, I couldn't sleep last night because of the pain in my knee. Knowing how much pain I'm going to be in after running around that hellhole for 4 hours I asked to take my vacation so I could have a little more time to recuperate. But the hellhole said I can't because of Comp. I don't get it. If I'm no longer going to be receiving payments from Comp, why does that interfere with my wanting to take my vacation?
I love that place.

Joe thought that comp would have to make up the differance. I am so sorry to hear this bad news, Hope. Sure wish they would give you more time. You may have to go on disablity. Praying for you sis.
